In my PhD thesis I investigated collaborative processes of innovation and design with particular emphasis on epistemics and the role of objects. During this process it became more and more apparent to me that objects are significant for the sense-and decision-making that takes place between workshop participants, and that we normally tend to place more impact on the verbal interaction in that process. This made me want to pursue the role of objects in interaction in more depth.“When words are not enough”: in CA language is action, but so is embodiment and ‘what we do’ with objects, and I am currently exploring to which extent objects and embodiment influences verbal interaction in creative processes of sense-and decision making.“The human object”: for fashion designers materiality and humans are inextricably intertwined, and I am currently investigating who participates in the making of a professional dance dress.  The empirical data from this research comes from extensive field research and video-recordings from a local fashion designer in the creative industry (www.justiankunz.com).
